Tokarev food.

Whilst digging through some old reloading boxes this week, I found a box of 32-20 bullets, I found it impossible to resist trying them out in a Tokarev. This bullet profile has a .308 diameter at the widest part of the ogive, and exaggerated crimp groove and .312 drive bands. In this case the bullet is seated about .045 up from the crimp groove.

I loaded a couple of these in front of 1.4 gr. of TrailBoss, as well as a couple plated 110-gr .308. The target was a sack of dacron with a few phonebooks behind.
The plated bullets were dug out of the dacron with no marks but riflings and burn smudges from the blowby. The cast .32's made it through the fiber and stuck in the first phone book with a fair amount of distortion. I would upload photos but attachments do not seem to be an option here?
These are obviously hand-cycle, but the undersize bullet head feeds flawlessly. Gas sealing seems to be excellent...this may be a inexpensive cast pill I can use for medium loads that will not foul the grooves...next test will be with 6.2 gr. of AA #7; I'll be a happy boy if my barrel is unleaded after 16 rounds.

24 rounds, no bore deposits that wouldn't easily clean with a nylon brush. Six of eight on a paper plate @ 50 yards; most accurate combo I've tried so far.

Looks like Midway is getting rid of these. On Clearance and only two boxes left. There are hard cast bullets here in 100 and 115 gr weights:

Good people. They have trial packs of 25, and prices are reasonable. I like their coated bullets for my P-64.

Seems like Penn Bullets also has 30 cal cast bullets in .308 various weights. Tokarev is specifically mentioned for the 90 gr. No sample packs though.

I got out the casting gear this morning and made a few tumble-lube pills from a mold I got when I used to have a .32 long colt revolver, my thought was to make a few
little poppers for holing cans along my usual walking trails (that didn't require ear pro). These pills are 84 gr. wadcutters, sitting on 1.5 gr. of TrailBoss, when seated to the last groove the COL is 1.025...I had plans
to load them one at a time. I didn't think they would load from magazine...but they hand-cycle just fine! I plan to try a some of these bullets over 6 grs. of Unique and see if they will autocycle; that would do my component budget a good turn.
